Every individual is different and the final result of
ocular prosthesis depends on the pre existing condition
of the eye socket and ocular adnexa. When the socket and
ocular adnexa are in good shape the final outcome is very
encouraging as seen in this picture.
In case of enucleation or evisceration presence of orbital
implant is vital for satisfactory outcome. They help
correcting the volume loss that is created following
removal of the eye and also impart motility to the artificial
eye.

These orbital implants are placed in the orbit and muscles
may be attached to it for better motility of the prosthesis.
This Patient received Biointegrated
orbital implant following enucleation and there was
no appearance of volume loss after the final outcome
with ocular prosthesis.
Custom artificial eyes can also be worn
over the disfigured eyes with excellent appearance and
good motility of the prosthesis.
