Good fornices:
both superior and inferior fornix should be deep
enough to retain the prosthesis and allow good lid
motility. |

Volume loss of about 2-5 ml.: Excess volume
loss on the socket may be due to absence of orbital
implant or migrated implant. When volume loss is
less than 2 cc the prosthesis may be too thin or
it may not be tolerated. |

Well-centered orbital implant: Those patients
who have undergone surgical removal of the eye give
best results with a well centered right size orbital
implant. |

Motility of the ocular prosthesis:
Motility of artificial eye is a functional of motility
on the surface of socket and presence of motility
coupling post over the bio-integrated orbital implant. |

Normal ocular adnexa: The eye tissues surrounding
the eyeball like eye lids, bony orbit and eye brows
should be normal in structure and function in order
to give the life like appearance to the artificial
eye. |
