This is achieved through patient education regarding the maximum possible utility of vision in the normal eye.

Every patient is unique and his condition requires detailed evaluation before a realistic expectation can be given. There are some Pre-requisites for optimal outcome with artificial eyes and unless those criteria are met the final result may not be optimal or a surgical correction may be warranted before fitting ocular prosthesis.
