Dr. Gupta graduated from Rohtak Medical College in the 1986 and completed M.S. (Ophthalmology) at same place in 1990. After completing the post graduate training he worked at Sitapur Eye Hospital and in 1993 joined LV Prasad Eye Institute for fellowship training in the Comprehensive Ophthalmology Programme. He also received specialty training in Glaucoma under the guidance of Dr. G. Chandrasekhar.

He is in Private practice in Delhi since 1995 and working as consultant ophthalmologist at Mata Chanan Devi Hospital, New Delhi. He also runs a super specialty Eye Clinic- Chinmaya Vision- at 28, Bhera Enclave , Paschim Vihar, New Delhi. He has presented several research papers in National as well as International conferences.
